In 2019, Simon returned to his roots, purchasing Blackpool Football Club.

The commitment to community came full circle in 2019 when Simon returned to his roots, purchasing Blackpool Football Club. He oversaw the club’s promotion to the Championship in his first full season.

Some of his earliest and happiest memories are of his father taking him to Bloomfield Road as an eight-year-old boy to cheer on The Seasiders.

Before moving to Bispham, Simon lived in Marton from the ages of six to eight, just a mile from the ground, where he remembers hearing the roars from the crowd on match days.

He has invested substantially into the player base and the club academy, recruiting the best talent from around the country. As of 2021 there are 140+ players in the academy ranging from the ages of 6-21. Promotion back to the Championship is Simon’s current goal.

Simon is committed to supporting the continued growth and development of Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies, one of the region’s leading female football clubs and academies. The Ladies First Team currently competes in the North West Women’s Regional Football League (Tier 6) and a thriving pathway of U9–U18 teams, including teams that play in the North West Super League. He is proud to help champion the future of girls’ and women’s football on the Fylde Coast.

Simon views himself as a custodian of Blackpool Football Club, committed to its long-term success and its role in the community.
