An Update from Blackpool Football Club – 28 April 2026

To my fellow Blackpool supporters,
Back in mid March, I came to you all with a request. To show up with a passion and determination to help get our players over the line and towards League One safety. You all delivered.
Our turnaround in form, particularly at Bloomfield Road where we signed off at home with five straight victories, was a collective achievement. Players, coaches, staff and supporters pulled together, and in doing so, demonstrated a level of strength and belief that defines this football club.
When the chips were down, the players and staff showed tremendous spirit to fight our way out of a situation that no one predicted we would be in at the start of the season. They should all be proud of their efforts over recent months.
Now that we can look ahead to another campaign, we must also be honest and learn from the mistakes made this season. Nobody associated with Blackpool Football Club wants to be in the position we found ourselves in at times over recent months. It is my responsibility, as custodian of the Club, alongside the senior leadership team, to ensure that we are at the right end of this division this time next year and fighting to return to the Championship. We will give everything we’ve got to that battle.
Away from the pitch, important work will continue at the football club during the off-season. The second phase of improvements around the stadium is set to begin imminently, including new floodlights and an upgraded PA system in time for the new season.
This year also marks the Club’s 125th anniversary year of permanently playing at Bloomfield Road – a significant milestone that we will be recognising and rightly celebrating over the summer months.
Let’s enjoy one final game of the season together at Reading. This Club is built on the strength of its community, and it belongs to every single one of you.
Thank you again for all of your support and I look forward to the new season with plenty of optimism.
UTMP!
Simon.
